Danielle- Estates Apprentice

Hi, I’m Danielle and I work as an apprentice in the estates department of Tameside College which looks after the grounds of the college, deals with post, manages the college switchboard and the estates helpdesk. I’m 21 years old and I previously attended The Blue Coat School in Oldham before I came to the college to study a course in Text Production and an apprenticeship in Business Administration. I would say the best part of my job is that I can earn whilst I am gaining a qualification. Also getting experience within a working environment that I wouldn't necessarily get if I was just in education. For example working with colleagues and meeting new people all the time.

Danielle’s manager said “Danielle has settled well into the Estates team and her confidence has increased since the start of her apprenticeship within our department.  She is gaining valuable experience dealing with tasks within a busy department ie College switchboard/External & Internal mail and the Estates Helpdesk. The skills Danielle has obtained along with the training will assist greatly in her obtaining a permanent position in the future."
